In this podcast, Paul, a former elder & Bethelite from Toronto, Canada shares his experiences about what it was like serving at three Watchtower branches (Toronto, Haiti & the Dominican Republic). He recounts several heartbreaking stories geared to help you to use critical thinking after making simple comparisons about the love and concern Jesus Christ showed his fellowmen to that of the Governing Body and their man made rules.
What makes this interview interesting is his approach to working with and encouraging individuals to step back and truly examine how the Watchtower, Bible & Tract Society teaches its members to treat others. He takes an up close look at the Bible and the manner in which Jesus dealt with those in need of assistance and discovers that the Watchtower is severely lacking in their approach to helping others.
During his time living abroad, Paul had the opportunity to work with individuals in third world countries where they do not have the same luxuries as those living in Western lands. In these countries, the laws are different, and females are not treated with dignity or respect. Yet, the Watchtower does not take this into consideration thus leaving such innocent victims to fend for themselves by cutting them off from the congregation.
Paul shows his compassionate side and uses basic reasoning to help you think about your choices and whether or not the Watchtower is really an organization where you should place your trust. At the end of the day, you must ask yourself, “is the Watchtower following the way of Christ” or are they more pharisaical in their approach to enforcing their man made laws.
We invite you to take the opportunity to listen to what Paul says in this podcast and make an honest assessment about your life and beliefs.
